With a passion for photography spanning over 20 years, Carol has developed her craft to include portraiture, landscape photography and mixed media prints. When she became a mother, she recognized that she deeply wanted to capture all of the little authentic details of childhood. Rather than just having an assemblage of “perfect” moments documented, Carol seeks to capture who her subjects really are. She looks for the little details that mark us as individuals, whether that be a toothless smile, a smirk, or a unique way in which her subjects express their personality. She strives to show in her work the things that we tend to forget as childhood evolves into adulthood: less posed moments and more real ones. Her sessions can be described as play time in which she uses creative strategies and games to help her subjects relax. Carol helps them release inhibitions through her warm affect, humor and empathy. Her strength lies in her ability to connect with others and mirror the individual way in which they interact with the world. She feels that photography is a vehicle for capturing and celebrating our unique beauty.
“To do more for the world than the world does for you – that is success.”
